Although digital photography isn't my preference (I am a film lady), the ability photography gives you to capture the essence of something absolutely stuns me. I think maybe that's why it's one of my most preferred art mediums. When something as simple as a leaf can transcend beyond the five senses through a photograph and make you truly feel as if you know it, are part of it-- ache to touch it to your face...it's pure magic. I wanted to take this leaf home with me as an experiment to see if it carried the same force outside of its natural environment and unphotographed, but I didn't have the heart to remove something so beautiful from nature. I hope it grows big and tall and touches the sun.
