Seeing buds on the trees has been so exciting-- more leaves are soon to come. I had the opportunity to go for a walk by a local pond the other day (weary of social distancing of course). The mosses were such a vibrant green, it was stunning to see such softness so thriving in nature. I took a lot of photos, and decided when I got back that I would try to paint one to carry along the peaceful feelings with me once I got home. Being inside more often due to covid-19 hasn't been easy, and I find the extra time I've been spending creating art in nature a really useful form of therapy. I used metallic acrylic paints that give a pearlescent sheen when dry-- I feel they really helped exemplify the shimmering beauty of this place.
